SUPPORTING THE EVENT
Do I need to spend the night to participate?
If you are unable to spend the night with us that is not a problem, please participate by fundraising leading up to Street Sleep SD and attending the evening portion of the event where we will share information on our live-changing programs we provide here at San Diego Youth Services.

Why should I participate?
On any given night in San Diego County, more than 1,800+ youth are experiencing homelessness. We are standing in solidarity with youth experiencing homelessness to make sure no more youth are without a safe roof over their head and a place to call home. Through funds donated, time given, or awareness raised, our communities are teaming up help vulnerable youth.
Is there a cost or fundraising minimum to register?
No cost to register and set your fundraising minimum to something you are comfortable with.

How do I fundraise for my team?
Reach out to friends, family and colleagues starting today! Tell them why the issue is important to you and why you are making this choice to get involved. If you need ideas, use our customizable emails or shareable social media graphics/text. Download our resources here.
How old do you need to be to participate?
All ages are welcome, but we ask if you are under 18 you be accompanied by an adult.
NIGHT OF THE EVENT
What is the October 20th event timeline?
6 PM Welcome, SDYS Program Fair and Food
7 PM Program
8 PM Talking Circles and Lawn Games
10 PM Lights Out
What do I bring to sleep out?
Yourself, warm clothes and a sleeping bag. We will provide a cardboard box for you to sleep on and there will be food during the event part of the evening. We ask that you do not bring tents.
What do we do all night?
After the event portion of the evening, we connect with other participants, talk about why we are sleeping out, and sleep.
